The Faculty of History is located on the Main Campus of Warsaw University. Since 1938 the Faculty has been housed in the Pomuzeal Building. This classicist building was built between 1818-1820, according to the project of Michal Kado. It is the only original building in Warsaw in the Warsaw Classical style that was not destroyed during World War II. In the years 1820-1831, the building housed the Fine Arts Department of the University of Warsaw.
In 2011, in place of the former carpenter’s shop, the Warehouse-Administrative Building was built for the needs of the then Historical Institute and the administration of the Faculty of History of the University of Warsaw. In the basement of the building there is a storage for books of the History Department Library. As of summer 2020, the ground and second floors of the building have been given to the Faculty of Arts and Cultural Sciences for temporary use.
