dr Simon J. Barker

Biography

I am a Roman archaeologist whose research focuses on many aspects of the ancient world, including Roman architecture and the building industry, late-antique urbanism, and recycling practices. I have published widely on these topics in numerous volumes and journals, including the Papers of the British SchoolMemoirs of the American AcademyMarmora, and Ædificare. Revue internationale d’histoire de la construction. I have been involved in fieldwork projects in Türkiye, Jordan, Italy, and the UK.
