Inauguration of the academic year 2023/2024

The ceremonial inauguration of the academic year 2023/2024 at the Faculty of History of the UW, combined with the oath of newly admitted students, will take place on 3 October 2023 at 10.00 a.m. in the Column Hall at the Faculty of History (26/28 Krakowskie Przedmieście Street, Warsaw).

Programme of the ceremony:

1. Anthem of Poland
2. Announcement of the beginning of the academic year by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Łukasz Niesiołowski-Spanò
3. Address by a representative of the Rector’s authorities
4. Address by the Dean of the Faculty of History of the University of Warsaw, Prof. Łukasz Niesiołowski-Spanò
5. Matriculation of students
6. Address by the Chairman of the Students’ Self-Government Council of the History Faculty, Krystian Kościug
7. Inaugural lecture entitled. „Czarne plamy na jasnych dziejach państw nordyckich – czyli rozprawa Skandynawów z tabu w swojej historii”  will be delivered in Polish by Prof. Grażyna Szelągowska
8. Gaudeamus igitur

The Dean of the Faculty of History of the UW invites staff, PhD students and friends of the Faculty to a faculty meeting to be held on 4 October. Details of the time and place of the meeting will be sent out to invitees by email and – for organisational reasons – require confirmation of attendance.
