Wacław Felczak and Henryk Wereszycki Award, 2024

On 13 December, a ceremony was held at the headquarters of Wydawnictwo Literackie in Krakow to announce the winners of the 24rd edition of the W. Felczak and H. Wereszycki, which rewards publications on the history of Central and Eastern Europe and its relations with Poland from the Middle Ages to the present day.

Established by the Cracow Branch of the Polish Historical Association and the Faculty of History of the Jagiellonian University, the prizes were received, among others, by Dr Jan Błachnio.


The Wacław Felczak and Henryk Wereszycki Prize was established in 2001 by the Polish Historical Association – Krakow Branch and the Faculty of History of the Jagiellonian University. It is awarded annually, alternately to a Polish or a foreign author. This year is its twenty-second, this time national, edition. The competition covers publications on the history of Central and Eastern Europe and its relations with Poland from the Middle Ages to the present day.
