Professor Stefan Ciara

Biography

Born in 1949; Master’s degree at the University of Warsaw, 1972, Ph.D. thesis in 1986; employed at the University of Warsaw Library, 1972-1973, at the Central Archives of Historical Records, 1973-1979, at the Historical Institute of the University of Warsaw since 1979 as a senior assistant, assistant professor since 1987; while working at the AGAD, completed Postgraduate Studies in Archival Science at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (1975-1976). Between 1994-1999 Acting Head of the Department of Historical Auxiliary Sciences. Traineeships abroad: Vienna September 1992 and June 1994 (at the invitation of Österreichisches Ost- und Südosteuropa Institut). Habilitation in 2004. Since 2009 Associate Professor at the University of Warsaw.
