End-of-Academic-Year Ceremony

The Dean’s Office of the Faculty of History, University of Warsaw, is pleased to invite all students completing their Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes at the Faculty of History in the 2025/2026 academic year to the End-of-Academic-Year Ceremony, which will take place on 29 June 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Column Hall of the Faculty of History.

This special event will serve as a symbolic culmination of your academic journey – a moment for reflection, celebration, and shared memories. It will also provide an opportunity to celebrate the completion of an important chapter in your lives together with the Faculty of History community.

Programme highlights:

  • Address by the Dean of the Faculty of History, Professor Łukasz Niesiołowski-Spanò
  • Lecture by Professor Artur Markowski entitled Why Do We Need History Today?
  • Presentation of congratulatory letters and graduation diplomas (for students who complete their degree requirements by 24 June)
  • Performance by the Faculty of History Choir
  • Group photograph in academic gowns and mortarboards in front of the University Gate

Important Information

Students wishing to attend the ceremony are asked to complete the registration form by 24 June 2026, 11:59 p.m. A link to the form will be sent by email.

We warmly invite both students who meet the requirements listed below by the specified deadline and those who will not yet have completed all degree formalities before the ceremony.

Graduation Diplomas

Students who successfully defend their thesis by 24 June 2026 (inclusive) will receive their graduation diploma during the ceremony from the Dean of the Faculty of History.

Congratulatory Letters

Students who complete all programme requirements by 24 June 2026 will receive a congratulatory letter during the ceremony. Please note that this document is commemorative in nature and does not constitute an official confirmation of graduation.

To receive a congratulatory letter, students must, no later than 24 June 2026:

  • obtain all grades required by their study programme;
  • ensure that all courses have been correctly assigned to their degree programme;
  • contact the Student Affairs Office to complete the programme clearance process and obtain confirmation that all requirements have been fulfilled.

Students who are unable to complete the programme clearance process by the above deadline are still very welcome to attend the ceremony. We kindly ask only that they register in advance using the form that will be distributed on Monday, 15 June.

We encourage you to reserve the date and register for the event. It will be a unique opportunity to celebrate the completion of your studies and reflect on your time at the Faculty of History.
