Ph.D. Jan Błachnio

Biography

Born in 1992 in Warsaw. He completed his undergraduate (2011-2014) and master’s (2014-2016) studies at the Institute of History of the University of Warsaw. In 2016-2021, he was a participant in the Faculty of Doctoral Studies at the Faculty of History at the University of Warsaw (from 2020 at the Faculty of Doctoral Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Culture at the University of Warsaw). In 2021, he defended his doctoral thesis devoted to the Austro-Hungarian rear services during the Carpathian campaign of 1914-1915, prepared under the supervision of Dr. hab. Piotr Szlanta. In his research, he deals with the history of sport, military and medicine of the late nineteenth and first half of the twentieth century. Interests: mountain tourism, ice hockey, travel and crime literature.
