M.A. Kacper Pielat
Biography
Born in 2001 in Płock. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in 2023 at the Faculty of History, University of Warsaw, with the thesis “The Oldest Cartulary of the Płock Cathedral: A Source Study.” In 2025, I graduated with distinction, defending my Master’s thesis “Memory Written on Parchment: The Document in the Memory Strategies of Cathedral Communities in the Polish Lands up to the Mid-14th Century,” supervised by Dr. hab. Piotr Okniński.
My research interests focus on issues related to medieval memory culture, the development of written culture in the Polish lands, the social functions of documents, and institutional identity in the context of ecclesiastical communities. I am also interested in auxiliary sciences of history and source studies.
