Biography
Doctoral researcher at the Faculty of History of the University of Warsaw (project God in Heaven, Tsar on Earth: Imperial Power and Peasant Religiosity in Russian Poland, 1905–1915; funded by a grant from the National Science Centre’s Preludium programme). In
2025, visiting scholar at Columbia University in New York thanks to Kosciuszko Foundation Grant. Member of the research team for the European Research Council grant Benasta – Becoming National against the State: Popular discontent and adherence to minority nationalisms in late nineteenth-century Eastern Europe. Recipient of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education Diamond Grant.
Research interests focus on the social, cultural and religious history of the Russian partition, especially the history of peasants during and after the reforms of the 1860s. His work also concerns tsarist imperial policy in Russian Poland.
