Professor Piotr Maciej Majewski
Biography
He deals with the history of Central and Eastern Europe in the 20th century. D. at the Faculty of History of the University of Warsaw in 2000, habilitated there in 2008, and in 2020 he was appointed professor of the university. His main research interests include the history of Czechoslovakia and the Czech lands, as well as Czech-German relations in the 20th century. He has also worked on the foreign policy of the People’s Republic of Poland, forced migration of people in the 20th century and contemporary politics of memory. From 2009 to 2017 he was Deputy Director of the World War II Museum in Gdańsk, where he was responsible for the preparation of the core exhibition.
