M.A. Krzysztof Kuczyński
Biography
Born in 1994. Graduate of the Institute of History at the University of Warsaw (BA in 2017, MA in 2019 under the supervision of Professor Jarosław Czubaty). Since 2019, a doctoral candidate at the Doctoral School of Humanities, University of Warsaw. Recipient of scholarships from the De Brzezie Lanckoronski Foundation (2021) and the DAAD (2022). Since January 2021, he has also been carrying out a research grant funded by the National Science Centre (Preludium 20, 2021/41/N/HS3/03002).
His doctoral dissertation, supervised by Professor Urszula Kosińska and Professor Konrad Bobiatyński, focuses on the history of the privateering flotilla of Augustus II the Strong in the years 1700–1701.
His research interests centre on military history, with particular emphasis on the history of navigation and cavalry. He is also interested in social history and the culture of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth.
Outside his academic work, he is passionate about sailing, equestrianism, and scale model building.
