BRAVO and BRAVO-CRP Alert Levels in Force

Please be informed that from 1 June to 31 August 2026 the following alert levels are in force throughout Poland:

  • the second BRAVO alert level,
  • the second BRAVO-CRP alert level concerning cyber security threats.

Accordingly, the security procedures specified in Ordinance No. 82 of the Rector of the University of Warsaw are being implemented at the University of Warsaw.

  • Any unusual incidents, such as unattended parcels, backpacks or other luggage, as well as any signs of unusual behaviour by persons staying in the building, should be reported to the porter’s office (Mr Leszek Nowak).
  • Any suspicious emails, phishing attempts and other unusual incidents in cyberspace should be reported to: dyrektor.administracji.wh@uw.edu.pl
  • Please be informed that increased inspections of lecture halls and checks of persons entering University buildings may be carried out, especially in the case of individuals displaying unusual activity or behaviour.
  • At the same time, we kindly ask you not to leave backpacks or bags unattended in the building and to report any suspicious behaviour.

Armed perpetrator

One of the forms of a terrorist event is the act of an armed perpetrator. Most often it is an “active shooter” attack or a hostage situation. “Active shooter” attack can turn into a hostage situation and vice versa.

Contamination agents

Those include i.e. chemical, biological, radiation and nuclear substances (CBRN). The most common form of terrorist attack using contamination agents is sending them by post.

Cyberterrorism

Cyberterrorism can be defined as activities such as: hacking attacks, data theft, infecting websites and systems in order to obtain funds for terrorist activities or attacks, as well as conducting propaganda and radicalization activities.
