  • The call for applications for the SONATINA 6 competition organized by the National Science Center is underway. The aim of the competition is to support the careers of young researchers by creating full-time employment opportunities and conducting research in Poland, as well as enabling them to gain knowledge and experience during internships in high-quality foreign research centers / link

 

  • The Rector of the University of Warsaw decided to grant one-off benefits in connection with special working conditions at the university during the COVID-19 pandemic. Co-financing consists of two parts:
    • social benefit – from PLN 1100 gross to PLN 1200 gross, depending on the amount of income. The application for the aid should be submitted between January 3 and April 1, 2022
    • a one-off task allowance – proportional to the number of days worked in 2021 and the number of full-time jobs (maximum PLN 800 gross). In this case, no application is required.

The recruitment will last until December 31, 2021. The addressees are doctoral students or academic teachers who do not have a doctoral degree or have a doctoral degree, which has not been obtained for 7 years, and are employed at the university / link

 

  • We would like to inform you about the possibility of using free on-line training on various topics related to a scientific career. The trainings are aimed at scientists at various stages of their scientific development and from different countries. The organizers of the training are the partners of the EURAXESS TOPIV project and they are part of the mentoring program organized by the University of Sofia / link

 

  • The University of Warsaw will be holding the third edition of the survey on the evaluation of the implementing of the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.   • We encourage you to submit applications in the POLONEZ BIS program. The program can finance the stay of outstanding foreign scientists interested in developing their careers in Polish research institutions. The competition offers funds for remuneration for the project manager and members of the research team, including scholarships for students or doctoral students, and for covering costs related to the expenses necessary for the implementation of the research project, i.e. apparatus and small scientific and research equipment, materials, external services , business trips, sharing open access publications and more. Applications can be submitted until December 15, 2021 / link

 

  • IDUB competition – “Tandems for Excellence” program – research and research and teaching staff are encouraged to submit applications. The aim of the competition is to create small research teams, consisting of a foreign researcher with outstanding scientific achievements in a given discipline and researchers from the University of Warsaw. The program is implemented in the form of medium-term (up to 12 months) projects, including visits of foreign researchers to Poland and remote cooperation. The maximum budget of a single project is PLN 250,000. zloty. Applications are accepted until December 20, 2021 / link

 

  • Applications are being collected for the 4th edition of the “Science is for People” competition organized by the Center for Cooperation and Dialogue of the University of Warsaw. The scholarship – addressed to everyone who wants to establish Polish-French cooperation and conduct research in France – must be completed between February 1 and December 31, 2022. The competition is open to scientists with at least one published work or at least one artistic or artistic-scientific achievement, who received their doctoral degree not earlier than 1st of January 2009. Within the competition it is possible to apply for funds for the implementation of a single scientific activity in one of the following forms: preliminary or pilot research, a search, an internship, a research trip or a consultancy trip. The competition is open to grants ranging from PLN 5,000 to 50,000 for the implementation of a scientific activity lasting up to 12 months.   • On behalf of the Discovery Group, the company wellwell.tv is preparing a TV project devoted to life and social rules prevailing 200 years ago. The film is to be targeted at young people who will learn about the life of their peers 200 years ago. The content consultants will play an important role in the creation of the program. Therefore, the producers would like to invite to cooperation, for a fee, people who have historical knowledge about the realities of life of the Polish aristocratic court in the nineteenth century, about court etiquette, ceremonial, culture, but also about the entertainments that made the court life of that period more pleasant. The prize will be awarded in the following categories: 1) Academic historical book – the best monograph or synthesis on the Polish experience of confrontation with two totalitarianisms in the twentieth century, 2) Historical reportage – a story about the Polish experience of confrontation with two totalitarianisms in the twentieth century (also included are biographies, collections of accounts, memoirs or correspondence by witnesses of history), 3) Special prize for war correspondents. The competition is open to books published in 2020 (in Polish or English). Each category will be awarded a prize of PLN 75,000 and a commemorative statuette.
