Kreacje władzy – pokaz mody kreacji dostojników ze średniowiecznej Nubii

Nasza studentka z kierunku History of Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations, pani Tasabeh Hassan, wystąpiła podczas wydarzenia Centrum Nauki Kopernik “Kreacje Władzy”.

Podczas wydarzenia zespół badawczy Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego i Uniwersytetu SWPS przedstawił stroje biskupie i królewskie ze średniowiecznych królestw nubijskich, szczegółowo odtworzone na podstawie malowideł ściennych z katedry w Faras, które można oglądać w Galerii Faras Muzeum Narodowego w Warszawie. Stroje wzbudziły ogromne zainteresowanie w Luwrze i Bode-Museum w Berlinie. Teraz mogliśmy je zobaczyć w Warszawie.

W czasie wydarzenia wykłady wygłosili również:
– dr hab. Dobrochna Zielińska – archeolożka z Wydziału Archeologii Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego,
– Dorothée Roqueplo – kostiumografka, absolwentka École Internationale des Arts de la Mode w Paryżu,
– dr Agnieszka Jacobson-Cielecka – kuratorka wystaw designu i projektu Dress to Impress, projektantka i publicystka, Dziekan Wydziału Projektowania Uniwersytetu SWPS i wykładowczyni w School of Form,
– dr Karel Innemée – holenderski archeolog i historyk sztuki.

Podczas wydarzenia można było również zobaczyć fotografie przedstawiające efekty warsztatów tapowania tkaniny, w których brała udział pani Marta Ostrowska, również studentka kierunku History of Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations. Marta własnoręcznie malowała tkaninę, wykorzystując technikę polegającą na stemplowaniu materiału przy pomocy drewnianych kołków oraz uderzaniu gąbką nasączoną farbą o szablon.

Dodatkowo, wystąpienie Tasabeh zostało zauważone przez media – pojawiła się w materiale “Teleekspresu”. Tutaj można obejrzeć fragment odcinka:

Our student from the History of Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations program, Ms. Tasabeh Hassan, participated in the “Creations of Power” event at the Copernicus Science Centre.

During the event, the research team from the University of Warsaw and SWPS University presented bishop’s and royal garments from medieval Nubian kingdoms, meticulously recreated based on wall paintings from the Faras Cathedral, which can be seen in the Faras Gallery at the National Museum in Warsaw. These garments previously garnered significant attention at the Louvre and Bode Museum in Berlin. Now, they were showcased in Warsaw.

The event also featured lectures from:

• Dr. Hab. Dobrochna Zielińska, an archaeologist from the Faculty of Archaeology, University of Warsaw,
• Dorothée Roqueplo, a costume designer and graduate of the École Internationale des Arts de la Mode in Paris,
• Dr. Agnieszka Jacobson-Cielecka, curator of design exhibitions and the Dress to Impress project, designer and journalist, Dean of the Department of Design at SWPS University, and lecturer at the School of Form,
• Dr. Karel Innemée, a Dutch archaeologist and art historian.

The event also featured photographs showcasing the results of fabric stamping workshops, in which Ms. Marta Ostrowska, another student from the History of Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations program, participated. Marta hand-painted fabric using a technique that involved stamping the material with wooden pegs and applying paint with a sponge through stencils.
